  • 2004 Toyota Tundra FINISHED FINALLY!

This is my pride and joy and this project has been a long time coming. A BIG thanks to my friend Scott who was the mastermind behind most of this.

If youre not interested in waiting on the pics to load you can check out all my pics HERE

I tried to take pics with and w/o flash to give a good idea of how things look, but as the pics will show, I SUCK as a photographer.

First pic is with the Lilliput molded in and turned off. Fiberglass was done so that all buttons are fully functional and useable and the PC auto starts whenever I crank the truck or use the alarm remote start function. The LCD also auto turns on.

Pic with windows media center loaded up.

I have the new Alpine CDA-9855 headunit and I didnt want to get rid of it because its the best sounding headunit Ive ever heard but I new mounting space had to be fabricated out of fiberglass.

The PC itself is hidden in the center armrest.

The IR sensor for the remote was hidden above the reaview mirror.

    Some extra pics

And in closing, here is apicture of what it looked like before all this was done.

Media Center is a such a nice interace for a carPC. What limitations does it have compared to WinXP? Can I run media center on top of winxp pro?

Beautifull job on the install man!!

Just out of curiosity, what are your PC specs? I run MCE on a 2600+ AMD Athalon XP with 1GB PC3200 Ram, and it runs kinda laggy.

Media Centre is just a bolt on to windows XP. At the moment, it is only available to oem's. You won't be able to download it and install it onto xp pro. You would have to re-install xp with the xp media edition. (Does this make sense?)

The radio is an Alpine CDA-9855 (LOVE IT)

The PC specs is a via Epia M-1000 w/ 60GB 5400rpm laptop drive, slimline DVD+RW, 1GB RAM, and then all the onboard video, sound, etc etc.

I used an n-lite install of media center to keep it small and fast. The only delays I have are when I initially click on "my music" and it loads the cover art for my CD's. I have close to 100 CD's so it takes about 7-9 seconds to load them all.
