I like the body style of the Jettas. They are very clean looking. Are they easy to get into/upgrade?

      Hey, good start!

      I've got a question...

Is there any room for a Cd receiver under the AC controls if one would decide to mold a 7" VGA screen on the top? I'm thinking a Jetta GLS ('00-'02) might become my next car. Just curious.

Also, where are the cup holders?

      Peace,

      Rafster

No theres no room for anything under there, its maybe 4" deep and theres a harness and metal behind it, aside from the 12v socket and an ashtray. The cupholders are the silver bar above the headunit pocket ontop of the HU. You push the silver bar and they slide out, and lower to ebcome two cupholders. The newer models dont have this, they have a center console holder.

And yes, Jettas are very easy to work with, panel wise. Routing my Sub wiring under the door jams was a snap (literally, 4 clips) and doing all this panel removal for the wiring is merely 6 hex screws.

Not trying to be rude, but there's a subforum for worklogs. This one is supposed to be for finished projects only.

I dont see a worklog section? All i see is fabrication, and thats quesitons about materials. If a mod wants to move this, thats cool. Itll be finished in only a few days tho

the worklog is a subforum, at the VERY VERY top of the show off project forum. You think it will be done in a few days but we all know, you can predicit the future : )

Cool. Just for future reference, when you click on the "Show off your project" forum, look near the top of the page for the Worklog subforum.

Ok heres the pics from Friday/Sunday..Heres a short problem list:

-EPIA wont boot from RCA, doesnt detect 8" LCD as a monitor.
-Sanded down corner of audigy btu shorted it out.
-Harddrive gets too hot (Turned fans around)
-Computer didnt fit under dash (Moved under seat, see pic)

                            Problems im still having:
-Inverter goes into protect mode when car starts, need to hardwire it...?
-Going to us a VGA to RCA cable isntead of trying to make the RCA cable itself work...

Onto the pics! (BTW, everythings installed, just waiting on VGA adapter and hardwire battery)

                            All installed, cleaned and washed!

The wireless USB adapter is in the corner of the dash still, the wires are hiden under the floorboards on the side...all the wires for the computer are hidden inside the center console and wired on the side into the Headunit/AC harness where they plug into the HU/LCD.

                              5/18/05:

                              Soldered PWR/LED into mobo
                              Fixed Inverter Protect problem
                              Hooked up everything but LCD

I will have pics of the unit working by the end of the week! Now lets hope my battery doesn't die.

Heres a little rear end action for hits:
