  • It had to Happen!!

    Greetings all,

    I have taken my mad scientist mind and attacked a new Honda element
    here is the link to my worklog;

    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=93913

    I also have updated my segway, I will post pictures

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
    Now back to the original message:

    Hello, new poster here. but not new to the internet.
    I am combining MANY of my hobbies together and building a
    SEGputer. Which is a mac mini (I am also a Macgeek)
    With A Xenark 7" LCD Touchscreen, and ALOT of 'bling'
    On my Segway E-Series.

    I have taken pictures of the unit in production and will explain all the stuff on it. (if your interested)

    Here are three pictures;

    Lightfull is a Well lighted picture of the segway, its all pulled apart and I am using a 15" powerbook as my test machine, and all the mounting is rough.
    I am using I3's Wonderful touch screen interface, and has already made my own skin for it.

    Screen - is just that a closeup of the screen

    Fulldark - is a picture of the seg with all my "stuff" turned on

    Just a bit of detail here.
    The Xenark also asks as my "rear view" mirror, I have a camera mounted in the left bag.

    I will be building the mini into the left bag, I have two 9aH batteries powering everything.

            Yup - pair of flat panel speakers mounted on the sides, hidden under the bags,
            No sound loss or muffling.

            I am curious why most people are laughing.
            Please explain.

                Wow, I would have never thought someone would do this. Looks good, props.
                Now you just have to tiddy up the wiring and it will look good.

                Oh and you can bring that thing to the next NY meet, I wanna see it in person.

                  I can't believe it!

                  I think it's brilliant! That Segway is just slightly bigger than my MINI.

                    Thats got to be the most ghetto install I have ever seen.

                    When your using all that power, can you make it all the way around the block without having to recharge?
                    Is this where the witty comment goes?

                        I'd laugh if I ever saw you in public with that monstrosity. I guess it would be alright if you were a contestant in a "pile as much stuff onto a Segway as possible" competition though.

                        On a more serious note, I'd be afraid of getting mugged on that thing.

                            WOW! thats cool!

                            But it must put a drain on it with all the weight.

                            I remember seeing them for the 1st time at Farnborough a few years ago. BAe systems were using them for staff to get around the air show and I was amazed that they could go up and down steps.
