  • 2006 Mustang GT Install

    Hi everyone!
Here's some info about the my components as well as some pics. Would love some feeback and any suggestions to add/remove anything! Thanks

Pioneer Avic N-2 Head Unit w/motorized touchscreen LCD screen (GPS, DVD, MP3)
Mac Mini (1.42GHz, 80GB, Bluetooth, Wi-fi) (under passenger seat)
Pioneer iPod Interface Adapter (middle storage compartment) (CD-IB100)
Slimline PS2 (under passenger seat) (SCPH-70012)
Pelican Predator wireless RF PS2 controls
Super Brand 7" TFT LCD Sunvisor mounted screens (integrated TV tuner & games) (SP-VM7010)
7" LCD Headrest mounted screens (TX-207C)
    Pioneer Rear view camera (ND-BC1)
Interlink Versapoint Communicator RF Keyboard w/mouse

...of course there's additional stuff like inverter, USB hubs, USB thumb mouse, usb game controller, usb mini keyboard, wireless headsets, alarm system etc.

So the install is semi-complete because everything is functional but I would like to add more things like an aOpen mini pc (The Mac's ok....but there's a ton of my personal software that won't run on it so the Windows machine will be for day to day use) and a Clarion switcher for individual zone selection and a TFT rear view mirror display (a sixth LCD screen would be sweet..even if it is only a couple inches!). I feel kind of down though cause I just read about the Pioneer Avic Z-1 coming out. Arg!!!!

Question: Anyone have the Avic N1/N2 with the Pioneer iPod adapter? I don't get any track info on the screen...I can navigate the iPod with the joystick but no ID3 data displays on the screen or CD/Track info....isn't it supposed to?
Thanks and look forward to hearing from you all!

Wow, that looks absolutly amazing! Awesome work man! Great car too!
    Where's the pc?
Those headrests monitors are gorgeos with that carbon fibre. Did you make that shroud, or that's the way they came?

Hi Cris and snmnetwork, thanks for the compliments! The computer (Mac Mini) is under the passenger seat just strapped down with velcro as is the slimline PS2. I'm not as talented as you guys in doing custom case mounts and such. All I can do is hook stuff up so there's really nothing in there with a custom housing or anything. Yes those headrests came with the LCD's already mounted in them as did the sunvisors....I like the easy route
You guys definately rock because you make your own housing!

These are my headrests, made by me....but at the end of the day, yours look much better.
            Where did you get them?

I got them off eBay like this set here:
              http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2-CAR-HEADRE...QQcmdZViewItem

I just searched for LCD headrest monitor and there's a ton available. The eBay seller that i got my actual ones from doesn't appear to have any listed. You should be proud that you put in your own LCD because if something happens to mine I have to head back to eBay and hope they have the whole headrest (same model) for sale but if your's stops working you can replace the LCD because you're good at that stuff!
Your's IS awesome....if I had the ability I'd want to do it myself like you did!

How were the Sunvisor LCDs to mount? Did they reuse the stock screw holes or did you have to do anything different? I would love to add something like that to mine, but I am still no even done with my initial setup.
Here's my setup, check it out.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone!

                          Hey 2 STanGeR,
The sunvisor LCDs were a problem because as you know there's just a big hole once the factory visors are removed so I got a guy to make a plate that is just like a small flat U shaped piece of metal with holes drilled on both sides to line up with the holes on the inside of the car and the holes on the bracket of the sunvisor LCD. I had people tell me it could be welded but I preferred the less permanent way of the bracket.

gbh the LCDs aren't an exact match in the car but unless you look really closely in the car it's not that noticable....and yes I DO want more lcd's!

Anyone know of a US seller that has this alarm?

It would be way too cool to be able to do all that stuff from a watch that's always with you!
