  • 06 Acura Rsx Installed!

    We just finished this up recently, after doing the 05 Acura TL.

    Car:

    06 Acura RSX Type S
    Powder White Pearl

    Hardware:

    2.6ghz P4
    MSI PM8M Mobo
    160gb SATA HD
    512 Ram
    Xenarc 700TSV
    OPUS SFX.1215
    USB Hub
    Various Wires..
    GPS BU-353
    XMD with custom cable


    Software:

    Windows xp pro
    Roadrunner frontend
    LSX 3.0 Skin
    Winamp / Milkdrop
    Iguidance
    Lots of fruity Dance Music



    Basic Process:

    Remove Stock Type S HU (remember to leave your cds in the changer..... )
    Cut a aftermarket RSX stereo kit to fit a Xenarc bezel.
    Glue/Epoxy Xenarc Bezel to Stereo kit
    Bondo the screen/xenarc combo, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint.
    run wires (battery, ground, ignition, switches, sound, video, and misc)


    Cost:

    approximate total cost : $500
    approximate time to completion: 12 hours


    Features:

    navigation
    audio (about 80 gigs worth of mp3s)
    video (DVDs, MPGs, etc etc)
    games (various emulators; N64, SNES, GB, GENSIS, MAME)
    internet capable, need bluetooth phone in car.

      hi,
      where did you buy the xenarc 700tsv
      that alone costs about 380..
      how did you finish in $500

        Most of the stuff I had lieing around. The Xenarc I got off ebay for 260 shipped under the name Gain 700tsv.

            its actually a GAIN monitor --- exactly a xenarc packed into a different case --- only the logo on the case is different. i believe it was around two hundred and change.

                            Where did you put the computer itself? Trunk?
                            Old plans out the window because of an accident .
                            Have: M1-ATX, EPIA M10000, 256MB, 60GB 2.5", slim slot load DVD
                            Need: Time, HU integration, ideas for Lilli
