This is how it will look when everything is done. Only the amp is visible.

Closeup of the no name amp

        floor cover removed

        where i will mount computer

        computer mount i fabbed up

how it fits, no clearance issues.

where i plan on cutting more of the foam out and installing a CPU chassis fan

anyone have any suggestions on keeping the computer cool besides not putting it there Keep in mind i have heavy tinting and my car has a lid thing in the trunk that does not allow direct sunlight from hitting the trunk floor but still allows air to move from the cabin to the trunk.

also im using a heat sink with fan and a chassis fan that i plan on mounting so that heat comes out the side. Im also thinking of putting the fan on the trunk floor and cutting out a hole for it. Something like this:

cutting a hole for a fan would probably be the best idea... how thick is that carpet, does it let air through at all?

nope, theres a sheet of wood under the carpet. Very little air would get through. I think ill end up doing that, a hole, right over the system and putting some type of screen over it to prevent damage to the fan.

ok, is the carpet attached to the wood, or is it just sitting on it, if so, how well does the carpet breath, you could always just put a whole throught the wood, mount a fan onto that, and then have it blow through the carpet

Also, does any air get into there other then that one hole? if not you may need to make a second. See if you have one fan blowing out, and no other holes, you just pull the air out, giving it a negative pressure, but you never get any fresh air into there, so it dosnt work as well as it could. Same thing for if you have one blowing in, you keep putting fresh air in, but no way to get any hot air out.

You're probably best off having some sort of ventilation holes, and one fan sucking out, this will probably be your best bet, the fan pushing out will suck in fresh air from the ventilation holes

its glued onto the wood. Yeah ill probably do the whole in the wood with a fan and cut away the foam on the left side towards the rear to get a flow going. Thanks for the help!
