Next I had to decide on where am I going to put the brain of the unit and how am I going to power it up. I looked around for the center console to my truck since I have a bench seat. They were going for too much on eBay, so I built one out of ” I had laying around. Although, I do recommend using at least plywood. I used a piece of old cardboard I had to make a rough shape to contour the dash. After I got it the way I wanted it I transferred the template to my ”. After a few test fits and trimming I was pleased with it.

Search around a bit for other suburban installs. I have bucket seats and a completely hidden install in the center console for my 02.

Had some time today to try and rotate the lcd screen in the second monitor. Not to easy without cutting the case so the board will fit. Decided not to do it, went to my home computer which has a nvidia controller and it allows you to rotate display. Rotated the display and movies play good. There are other software out there which would do the same thing. Eeerotate and irotate, both are freeware and if the new video card doesnt work as planned will try these programs.

Here is a list of parts ordered.
              VGA PNY VCGFX522PEB 5200 256M PCI 39.99 + $10 mail-in-rebate
USB 2.0 Extension Cable A MALE /A FEMALE Cable 10 ft $2.99 (extend touch utility)
Dynex 10 Ft VGA PC Monitor Extension Cable $9.99

Wanted to find a 9 pin mini din to extend the wire without extending 2 but could not come across one in a short time.
Gonna mount the screen on the ceiling, trying to see a clean and nice way to do it so it flips down.

taking pics and will post when done.

Since it is raining out and I could not put my bay window in I decided to work on the truck.

Pulled the overhead light consol out and the dash bezel.
Started to redo the dash bezel, wasnt to happy with it. Here are some pics from round 2 lol.

trust me i noe throwing a double din in these trucks are a pita!!! i almost went crazy a few times during my install lol , you have 2 vga monitors? the flip down i would get a nice lil wire loom to hide the wires a lil better , i use heat shrink one ttime as wire loom and it came out nice and smooth and they come in all colors , what front end are you using ??

Just curious but why didn't you just mold the front of the display to the dash if you took all that time to change the size?

I love how that center console runs up to the bottom of the dash. The one I made for my truck falls short. Maybe I should redesign mine to mate up becuase I really like how yours looks.

I wanted to be able to remove the bezel without the monitor attached for easness. I have the wire loom in garage been lazy. Thanks for the compliments on the center consol, I ditched it and got a exact center and removed the middle seat. Will post pics when get back from honeymoon
