  • 1967 camaro Project

I'm new here and just thought I would tell you a little about the project I have planned.
    1967 Camaro
    468 BBC @ 650 HP
Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission
Car is currently getting body and paint done, color will be 2002 Prowler Orange pearl. I have most (90%) of the parts to complete this project, just need to find the time once the car is back in my hands. I will be creating a custom center console, and installing my Mac Intel Mini with 4Gb ram, and 500 Gb hdd. I'm not sure what screen I will run, since i will need the car back and interior installed to make measurements. I hope that I can get a 15" touch screen in there, but will have to wait and see. I will use the Mac Mini for my head unit, dvd's and maybe light-room and photoshop (I'm a Photographer in my free time, in my day job I'm a Cisco Network Engineer). I would like to integrate the 4 USB ports and FireWire 800 port on the Mini into the console so I can use my peripherals (wacom tablet, external hdd, iphone, etc...)
As far as the stereo goes, I have a JL 12W7 sub, Phoenix Gold 1000W class D amp, a 4 ch. 800W Phoenix Gold amp for the separates, a 15 farad Phoenix Gold capacitor (I know it's a bit overkill, but I got a great deal on it), and a 2/3 octave 12 ch. EQ. I'm not sure what separates I will install, I used the Diamond Audio S600's in my truck...
I have sprayed the interior of the car with Lizard Skin Acoustic and Ceramic insulation to cut down on the noise and heat, but I'm pretty sure my obnoxious big block chevy will still be very loud in the car.
I know this is a lot of work, but I'm really looking forward to it. On top of all the Carputer stuff and stereo stuff, I still have to assemble the entire car, since it is now only a rolling shell. I still need to install the motor, transmission, 4 way power disc brakes, interior, wire the entire car, etc... Why do I do these things to myself? Hahaha I guess because I'm a muscle car guy, as well as a geek.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I will post pics as I have them available. The car is in the shop for about a month more for body and paint. See link below for some pictures. They have some vignetting, because in my rush I brought a Nikon DX lens for an FX camera. I could have cropped the senor, but that would have made the images somewhat small. Silly me!
