Right now I'm still undecided on the FE I want. I'm thinking OpenMobile, because I really like the feature list & I'm a big fan of open source.

I tried Android on the ZBOX and found that any pop up message made the system horribly slow. I don't know if it was a driver issue, but I'm still so unfamiliar with Linux that I don't know where to look to fix that. Also, the wifi would not work in Android x86. I was bummed because I heard good things about Android but I guess it's really only feasible if it came installed on your device (tablet or smartphone).

So, please help me with suggestions on which OS to use if I want OpenMobile as my FE. I'm having trouble getting WinXP on that machine while it still has no disc drive (the BD-ROM is in the mail). Which version of Linux would be best? Ubuntu, ICE, XBMC or is Android x86 not a dead-end?

I'm feeling quite useless. 2 nights in a row now I've spent hours trying to get a usable OS on this ZBOX. Android ran horribly. I am having a devil of a time booting from a USB to install WinXP. I don't trust Windows 7 because I want to squeeze as much speed from this atom CPU as possible. LinuxICE seems unobtainable (website appears to be down) so I got Ubuntu. I've made some progress as I can boot from USB, but I keep getting "[Errno 5] Input/Output Error". I've never installed linux before and all my Windows experience feels utterly useless. I may just bite the bullet and go with Win7...

I've got Windows 7 Ultimate x86 running on my D510MO and it's much better than any XP installation.

I had no USB stick big enough to copy my Win7 DVD to, so
-I took my old PS3 drive (40GB) and put it into the enclosure that came with my SSD
-split the drive in half because it was too big for FAT32
-copied my windows DVD to the new external drive
-booted from the new drive on my ZBOX
-changed the bios to boot from my SSD
-I now have windows 7 x86 on my ZBOX

Then I had to leave for vacation. More to follow.

Ordered the power supply and screen today (/excited)

This thread will get bombarded with pics as I get going on the fabrication stage.

Unable to connect my iPhone to the PC (win7) using bluetooth. Also haven't tested tethering yet but it is enabled (jailbroken iphone).

I'm running new wires from the battery to my components. I having gotten much stalked yet as I've been fighting with my dash over the subject of removal and will instead be cutting out the pieces I want removed, instead of trying to pull them.

I'll put up pics of my stripped down interior this weekend. That's the current point of progress.

Tired of this stuff sitting untouched on my work bench.

Getting the amp hooked up after work today and the computer test-fitted into the dash Monday.
