  • Another 2005 Mustang install

Well, I am in the process of installing a custom carputer into my 2005 Mustang V6 coupe. I have already ordered the Lilliput 7" LCD from DigitalWW. I am also looking to buy an extra plastic bezel, so that I will be able to install the stock radio at anytime. Once I receive my second bezel, I will begin the actual fabrication of the LCD. Right now I have it jimmy-rigged in the stock bezel. I was planning on using some leftover computer parts that I have and then building a nano-ITX setup when I get the extra money. I have an Asus A7N8X-VM/400, 1800+ Athlon, 512 Meg RAM, 2.5" 40 GB Fujitsu harddrive, and a slimline Toshiba CD-RWDVD-ROM drive. I was leaning towards the OPUS 150 watt DC-DC power Supply SFX.1215. I am running Centrafuse as my frontend. I will post pictures and keep this worklog updated as much as possible.
Here's my setup, check it out.

I did some test fitting of how everything will look in the dash. I just set the computer behind my seat for testing purposes. Everything seems like it will work, now all I have left to figure out is the audio side of the picture.

I'm planning on doing a similar install when I get my 06 Mustang. It seems like its taking forever. Can you post some photos of your progress so far?

      Thanks

Well, I almost have all of my parts on hand. I went ahead and picked up the Phoenix Gold Octane-R M5.1MT as my amp. I read enough reviews and opinions that I went for it. I ended up paying $300 for it at a local shop. The other parts that I ended up purchasing are Via Epia M1000, 512 Meg RAM, 2.5" 30 GB Toshiba hard drive, 7" Lilliput 619GL-70NP, Opus 150 Watt PSU, Mechatroniks DIY bezel, DVD/CD-RW Slim drive. I will get some pictures up really soon of the install and then the finished product.
