Okay! So here i'm a noob but not completely a noob. I'm barely started on my CarPC. The only thing so far i'm doing is programming the software and still also researching for more information. I'm highly educated student who knows almost to everything about computers. After i found this website, i became interested in this project. I have a friend, doublet, who is almost done his project. So i decided to work on one also! Basically, i'm looking for a "plug-and-play" deal with my laptop. Here is what i plan to do!

1x 7 inch Lilliput Screen to my visor shade from a Dell laptop.

i know it doesn't sound much because i'm a college student but it'll work out great. Purpose of me having a computer for my car is:
    1. I just love computers (True geek)
    2. Love to work on assignments when i'm not at home.
    3. Enjoy more music. MP3 disc for stereo isn't enough. (I'm a DJ so i enjoy music alot)
    4. Have some entertainment while on the road. (DVD Movies)
    5. Lastly, i need GPS just because i run errands around my state and yet, i DO NOT HAVE A COMPASS.

    Steps to begin CarPC.
-Program and customizing frodoplayer (In Progress)
    -Buy a Touchscreen. (duh)
-Power the screen directly from the battery. (Still in research)
-The purpose of having a laptop for my CarPC is because i would like to take it out after driving my car. Of course, i would need it for school and everything else but main reason i wanted a computer in my car is because i run alot of errands for my business. So need GPS to locate areas i can't find.
    -Fiberglass screen to visor
-Hide wires to roof, down to the back of seatbelt cover, and down to under driver's seat. which my laptop will be located there.
-Maybe build a deck and add fans to cool my laptop.

Major mods will be added after i got my CarPC working which include GPS, XM radio, switch power, etc.

Here's a few pictures of my car for now!

Nice car! Search for member called "WebDog". He did a 1991 (or around there) 4runner install.

I wasn't planning to put my screen on my dash but here's a picture anyways. I plan to put it in my sun shade visor. Since my dash is too low for me to watch while driving so near my driving site would be great which is above my view.

You can install it instead of your center vents like WebDog did.

Yep, that's him. His previous car was a 4runna.

[Edit]: Ok... I searched the completed projects forum and I guess he never posted in it.
