    My first carpc :

(just testing the M2 ATX power source )

I've been reading for a while this forum, now I'm ready to do my carpc:
    Have so far:
    - DTK Mini Barebone P4 ....... -woot.com- ...........................$125
    - Intel Cel D 2.60GHz 533MHz ........ -starmicro.net-...............$55
    512 MB Ram ..........................-fry’s- ................................$24
    - M2ATX power source ..........–ebay-..................................$80
    - Delorme Earthmate gps lt-20 ..–fry’s - ...............................$40
    - 77Key USB Mini Keyboard .... -ebay- ................................$22
    - 1000W 4 ch amplif ......-amazon.com-............................ $100
    .................................................. ....................T:........$446 so far
Need: 8” or 7” LCD touchscreen.
I've read all the forums about lcds, still I don't know wich one to get.
7" have problems running in native resolution, 8" have less pixels then 7" even they are bigger + difficult to fit in an double din.

this is a nice setup for the lcd by nameeri like most of the honda civic owners did (I think this could be done with an 8" wide too), this one by kickercivic1 is a motorized 7".
Now, I would like to install an 8" 4:3 format if fits -or- an in dash LCD (motorized or not) mounted upside down in the lower DIN.

      next step: fabrication

After a month I've got my 8" monitor touch screen (800x600 native res).
      Now where to install it?
It won't fit in here easy...to much work to relocate butons, radio + glare problems

so it's going to be something like this:

      Advantages:
      -no sun glare problems
-easy install, radio relocation not required
      Disadvantages:
-screen position is a little bit to low

Next step: monitor enclosure fabrication , box for amplifier and pc in the trunk.
