Nice install. That's a good look. I have a 2000 and I did the screen the same way, removing the air vents. I replaced the ash tray with my buttons and some USB ports though. I like the way your buttons came out with your screen, very nice. How do you have it secured in the dash?

Oh damn I don't know how i missed the mention of the steering controls! Did you use an ipac? Everywhere I looked said these vehicles couldn't be wired directly. Please do share.

I use sat radio, and haven't connected the steering wheel controls yet. I will do that in the next few weeks. There is a thread on how to do that with a usb joystick port. let me know if you are successful, i will do the same.

ohh and I put a pioneer slimline slot load usb external CD/DVD deive next to my seat. was kinda low on dash space.

but im curious as to how you all with right hand drive navigate and drive at the same time. must be hard doing it with ure left hand?

Thanks, hot any pics of your install, I was going to remove the ashtray, but I use it a lot, I dont smoke, but for storage so dint want to loose that. I secured the screen by the screws in there.

i tried to make my setup so that if i have to sell the GC i will be able to put all the stock stuff back.

For the steering wheel, I still haven't done the controls, will start in the next few weeks. id be curious as to how it could be done too. I have to research into that one.

Speaking of steering wheels do you guys find your Jeep steering wheels sloppy, I tried to get that fixed but couldnt do anything. wish they had stiffer wheels.

That's a funny question..I was thinking how you guys cope driving on the wrong side of the road.. haha

but I have my gps sitting on the screen (suction) just left of my instument panel. But I must say the suction systems does suck - badly that is. It always falls off due to heat fluctuations I'd say. If there was a better system to make it easy to view and manage, then I'm open for suggestions. It's a garmin with screen prompts
i'd still like to know about the radio steering wheel controls though....

how did you go about sealing off the vents? if you did seal it, does more come out of the other vents? i really dont want to lose my vents, but i might now have a choice
Are you 2x? Because I want to integrate you from 10 to 13!

i really really want to keep the vents only because it gets well over 100 degrees in the summer around here. is there more air flow in the other vents since you sealed it off?

IMHO the vents dint make a difference.... in the summer it hits 35 degrees celcius here and It think its cool enough....

If you want the vents go with a 7" screen u can work it in there with he vents.... I had it before...
