Very nice! Are you going to add a plastic bezel around it? Also, I couldn't tell how you supported the LCD. It's going to bounce around alot with car movement, plus has to support you pushing on the touchscreen.

I have plans for a bezel, but you will have to wait for that. I stuck the screen in there with double sided foam tape.

Is that a 7" widescreen or an 8" widescreen? I've been debating which to get to fit into a double din setup that would also be custom.

Nice work. I did very much the same thing with my install I ended up making a frame for the LCD out of plywood, then moulding that to the OEM housing using plastic bond stuff to act as the front bezel. Then did a lot of sanding, painting, etc.

As for holding the LCD in place, I screwed two wooden noggins into the top and bottom of the front of the housing (behind the bezel) and left just enough room to squeeze the LCD and touch screen inbetween the bezel and the noggins. Then I screwed the original LCD mounts (little metal things) into the noggins and they held the LCD in there nice and tight.

Wish I had a photo to show...

Nice car! Can you stuff the whole computer in there? I would bet you could if you played your cards right.

you can get LEDs all over the place for cheap

if i was at my comp, i'd post a few links, most sites you can get 100 for like $4-$5

so, buy $20 worth, and ur set for life, lol

you should've got the multicolor leds, switch from red/green/blue whenever for the hell of it, hahah
