  • New product: DCDC-USB (DC-DC converter with USB interface)

I thought you might enjoy our lastest product, DCDC-USB. (see pictures at http://www.mini-box.com/DCDC-USB). This is good for single rail computers or dumb peripherals.

Accepts any input from 6-34V and outputs regulated 12V (BUCK-BOOST topology). Output can also be set to any voltage ranging from 6 to 24V by changing jumpers.

Sends ON/OFF puse to the M/B. For example, it can be used with the Intel D945GSEJT.

This design is capable of handling large amounts of power, it is based on the LTC3780 BUCK-BOOST circuit. On the USB side it is a 8 bit PIC microcontroler from Microchip.

Since this unit has a MCU on-board, the product can have many personalities, can be used a a programmable PSU, UPS unit, etc, etc. We even have a simple scripting language (not public yet, still working on it)

    Best Regards,
    -A

In the manual it states it can be set to 18v. I was wondering if it can produce 18.5V for a laptop application?

andrewb, does this converter operates as an inverter as well ?
if the input is 12VDC, can it output 19VDC ?

Hmmm, could be competition for the Carnetix 2140, one output voltage vs. two, but the price is definitely right.

              How about an enclosure?

does it have timed shutdown ? for example completely cut power from battery a minute after IGN off ?

EDIT: nevermind this post, it does have timing settings

This is too awesome! For the price I might just get it for curiosity reasons. Would be interested to see this in action...plus way cheaper than the Carnetix.

The only thing I do not see that may require some looking into is 'anti-thump'.

Well I got confirmation from mini-box support that the product does not have anti-thump.

Yup.... It is a buck / boost topology. So it can produce 19V if you have V(IN) below or above 19V.

So if V(In) is 12V, you can have 19V output.
