  • radio removal on a mazda

ok, so i got those DIN tools (the u-shaped ones) and i put them in the appropriate holes on the head unit. i tried pulling the unit out but either it wouldnt do anything, or the tools would not hold and just shoot out of the holes. i was there for about 45 min trying to get the damn thing about but it just wouldnt do anything. i know i was supposed to do it gently but that didnt work and i was getting hella frustrated so i just started forcing the things in. it seemed to work better that way but i still couldnt get it out.
    any suggestions would be appreciated.

by the way the car is a mazda tribute

You push the tools in the holes, then push the tools OUTWARD (away from the face of the radio), THEN pull the radio out. Just putting the tools in the holes isn't enough. You have to push the tools out to the sides in order to 'release' the clips.

it worked! i was putting the tools in too far. they only need to go in about 1 to 1.5 inches.

      thanks
