  • advice on good usb enabled in-dash reciever

I am helping out my brother on getting some good sound in his new car. Right now I am looking for a good cd player deck that has support for USB mass storage devices. I have an old 40gb laptop hard drive that I want to throw in an enclosure and plug in, so being able to browse the content is something I am looking for. I am currently looking at the Sony CDX-GT610, but it just lets you hit next on the USB media. That would be fine if it weren't for the whole 40Gb hdd idea. I also like the ipod support, since he has one, so if it had that option as well it would be great, but not an absolute necessity. I like the low pricepoint of that sony as well, and would prefer to keep it in the lower 100's.
Hopefully one of you have made this search already and can give me some advice.

I just put the CDX-GT410U into my wifes car, We have not fully tested out the USB but it looked like it would work OK with the files in Folders and it did display text. She is going to use it to listen to books on USB?

If you look at the CNET review of the 610, which is the big brother of the 410, you can see that there is no browsing support for USB, only next and previous controls. Is it the same way for your 410?
