  • audio feedback when using bluetooth handsfree phone

I have audio feedback when i try to use my phone with my computer, which has a mic and is connected to the HU. I placed the mic right behind my steering wheel because i thought this would be the ideal location for receiving the drivers voice. I hear people's voices come out of my speakers just fine, but then that sound goes back into the mic and the people talking to me can hear it again, like an echo. Is there some kind of software that would eliminate this problem? My mothers car has bluetooth handsfree built in so there must be some way of doing it as they seem to have figured it out at Toyota. It is an omnidirectional mic, so i dont know if changing the location will help much especially because i drive a civic coupe 2003 which is small. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I found out this is called Acoustic Echo Cancellation and can be found in almost every speakerphone application, and yet i cannot find a PC program that can do it. Anyone have any ideas or know of any programs that have this? I've seen that MSN Messenger has AEC built in but it only works for MSN Messenger. Maybe there is a way to use this feature from Messenger on other programs, would anyone know how to do this?

I decided to just buy a Asus Xonar U1 usb sound card (about $80) with AEC built in and hopefully better sound quality than my old laptop sound card. This solves the problem
