  • Sirius radio having issues!

I installed Sirius radio in my Isuzu rodeo running Road Runner with DigitalFX skin..

Everything works great! I love it... the interface in DigitalFX isn't fantastic but hey, it works and it's pretty darn cool.

    BUT.

it only works SOMETIMES when I resume from standby. . .
I'll resume, tap Sirius Radio... and I'm brought to the list of channels, no audio or titles/Artists... Sometime I can go back to the main menu and try again and it will work but that is rare. I usually have to go back to standby and resume, sometimes twice... and we're back in business.

I have a GPS hooked up too, the GPS is using XPORT to split it's port into two ports for use with RoadRunner and iGuidance...
Some people have told me to run the Sirius interface through XPORT but I already have XPORT being used unless it might be possible to run two instances ?

    thanks.

Do you have the pins for that usb to stay on while in standby. The only thing I can think about other than software or major hardware problems is that while going into standby the device shuts off when power is taken away from the usb rail, and while it resumes it assumes that the device was still on. When in fact power is just getting to it and the device may not work properly because it is in a different state than the software believes. Just a theory.

Good thought! But no, my USB output is completely shut off when in standby.. +5v power from usb is gone as soon as it is shut down or put into standby.

One option is to change the hibernate aware settings, yes i know you want to do standby but the concept is the same. When i used to hibernate, I had the same kind of issues that you're having with standby, setting hibernate aware to true worked in some versions of RR.

There are additional settings in Xport to help bring USB devices back from standby/hibernate. It's the bottom section of the program.

"The device list at the bottom works much like DevCon, and is for devices that have trouble with hibernation. Check only the devices you have trouble with. XPort will stop the driver before hibernation, then start after resume, then retry any driver that fails to start a few seconds later. Use with caution. Some devices may freeze XPort or fail to disable or enable. Each device may add several seconds delay, so it may not be a good option to use. You can test each device by disabling/enabling in Device Manager."

My point exactly. You may need to devise a way to keep the +5v active while the computer is in standby.

Hey where are the hibernate aware settings?

In RRconfig, don't know which section off the top of my head though.

I found it last night after reading looking for it. It is in the RR.in file. Didn't fix my problem...oh well
