  • AMP Problems

ok so i have a hifonics 1610d and it was working just fine for about two weeks. i moved the ground to have a better connection but now the amp wont put power out at either of the grounds. the hifonics still lights up but neither the power light nor the protect light is on. any suggestions or helpful info is greatly appreciated. thanks T

        14 with it running?

usually it should be around 11-12 with the engine off.

it could be a bad ground, a partial/blown fuse, or a loose connection anywhere in the car, or a bad switched line.

are you just testing the constant power line, or have you tested both the constant power, and the switched power lines, both with the car on and off?

also, is your ground good and solid, or just bolted up to the nearest point?

the other thing i have learned to check is that none of the cables are pinched anywhere(i blew 2 amps and a headunit with pinched rca cables...
