  • Front bass source?

I have logic components up front (great highs but miss all low end) and 2x Kicker 6.5" sub up front (not installed yet). I like some mis/bass up front so I'm putting the Comp CVT's up front in the doors to.

I was wondering what you guys would use as a channel source?

    the options:
    1. the front channel's (with low end crossover) to split right and left bass lines or
    2. the sub channel so as to get the same bass line from both the right and left stage as the highs are split.

that all depends how far into the "mids" you want to go. the sub channel wont really give you much midrange if it has crossovers built in.

      just a couple of questions:

what kind of crossovers are you using?

      what size speakers are they?

how many outputs does your sound card have, and how many are you planning to use later on?(multiple subs, mids, midwoofers, tweeters?)

The amp's crossovers for the CVTs (if I use the right/left channel) or the Sub/Center channel (low end filter is active here)

i like really loud, clear music, so my opinion would be to scrap the 6.5" subs for some thin mount 8's, or 10's, but anyways...

if i remember right, your running Console right?

if you are, then trying different crossovers would be that much easier-- try running the kickers as a active set, with something like a 150-200hz lowpass, and a 50-80hz highpass (i never had too much success with loud volumes, anything less then 50hz bass, and 6.5"s).

Yeah if you're looking for loud bass up front (anything you can feel) I would suggest at least using some 8" woofers and I wouldn't door mount 'em
            go for some underseat options.
But a single 10" in the trunk should provide more than enough bass if U have space back there

I'm not trying to shake the door off the hinges, I'm just looking for some bass up front. Right now the highs in the front are overwhelming. They're not mounted in the factory location. I made a custom enclosure witch houses two 6.5" woofers with separated air spaces. The sub will receive .21 cubic feet (min. .2' cubic per man. spec) and i'll put some dampener in there as well.

There's very little room under my seats but when it gets warmer I could look into it.

The pods are already done though so if it sounds okay, I'm leaving it as is.
