  • Connecting MP3 to Car Radio (AM)

    Please read the entire post

Here is my set up. I have an old car (1970's) that is completely stock including the original AM radio. This is an AM ONLY head unit. I do not want to cut into the dash to install a modern head unit and I would like to keep the functionality of the original radio (don't want to gut it to make a mock head unit). I would really like an intermediate "box" that will allow me connect an mp3. Does anyone know of something that would suit this need or some suggestions on a route to take. The avaliable room is to small for an external amp or hidden head unit. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Good luck with that.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

the only solution i can think of involves building your own am radio transmitter..

Thank you for the input soundma98. I have thought about trying to make an AM transmitter but felt as though a wired solution would be much easier.

After doing further research i am going to just build an amp using a TI class D amp IC. I appreciate the input.
