  • Rhetorical question

Im on my third console model. As im running out of space fast, I started thinking.....ok, I can do without my car radio's HU. I looked around at what others are doing, and they are basically replacing their HU's with other devices, which prompt me to ask....

Has anyone looked into online radio stations?

I mean, Theres Pandora, slacker, etc, etc.....I have "tunein" which allows you to pick any station in the world. (for online TV, I got "live station").

Tunein allows you to adjust the bandwith so you can get as much as 320k's.

Maybe this discussion has been around, but I didnt find any mention of it recently.

this might be something that kind of flies below the radar.. many mention that they tether their 3g phone to their carpc, and can usually stream pandora, etc.. the problem is mostly when you get out of a 3g/edge area, the radio will no longer work. not a major concern, just something to keep in mind..

Search "Internet radio" or "pandora radio" or "slacker radio," we've been doing this a long time. For TV there's "ORB" or "slingplayer", not to mention the latest craze - "NetFlix".

Maybe you didn't find anything cause your search button is broke?

Boredom. Its starting to snow again(expecting 4-6 inches this time) so I'm settling in to hibernate for a few days. Figured I'd post like a troll and be entertained for the duration. So far so good.

I stream Pandora and Tune In radio on 3G and Edge with good results. Obviously, Edge drops the station occasionally, but it works much better than you think.

I used shoutcast for awhile, then settled for the online radio station built in to Road Runner, then switched to Pandora, but was upset that it wasn't tied into my GI, so i gave up on tethering and bought a Directed HD Radio Connect unit that works just like the headunit, but it doesn't take up space in the dash.

we got 10" of snow up here in omaha... saved my Sound deadening for today.. 9 hours later it's all done, i'm tired and it's still snowing .
