First off why do you want to do it? That is if you don't mind me asking.

no damn it i mind ! nah of course not, i was going to move my aftermarket hu, and then place the stock one back in to make things look as clean and stock as possible
There was also several other things i wanted to use the DIN slots for, such as placing the lilliput mounting bracket inside it, and to mod a keypad into to make it look something to the extent of this:
Sorry i needed to decrease the size and the amount of colors man in 256 kolors, it was 203k lol

Well for the stock unit do you want it to drive speakers? For the aftermarket unit, the same question. Better yet tell me exactly what you're trying to do and I may be able to come up with suggestions. To answer your question though it is possible to set up two head units. In the end though I think you'll decide against it. Again though just break down for me what you're trying to do and I'll help out.

well i didnt really think of which would drive the speakers obviously it would have to be the aftermarket, but that would really make the stock useless. I guess i really wouldnt want to do that, but i would want to move my aftermarket under the factory place, do you just run the wires?
i want to place a small numpad in the factory double din enclosure with a led thing like in that picture, not sure what it'll do yet but it'll have those same characters instead of numbers

It's pretty simple to hook up a second HU, but you'd need RCA outs on one and AUX RCA ins on the other, or use an FM modulator. Or if you're running all speakers off of amps, and none directly from the HUs, you could hook the RCA outs on the HUs to a simple AV switch to the amps. But the only reason I could see for doing this is if you want to play two different media, like CDs and cassettes (or you can get HUs that play both). Obviously, a 10-key pad isn't going to look stock.

I've got a CD/MP3 HU in my dash and a cassette HU behind my seat, but mine was over-simplified, because they operate on different speakers, and the power and speaker lines were already there for the old rear radio. Eventually, I'm going to run the amp out on the cassette deck to a switcher to the AUX in on the CD player, and wire the cassette deck speakers to the CD player rear speaker outs.

Now I just need an 8-track and record player. :P Although, at one point I had two turntables and a mixer set up inside the van. It was hilarious playing records while driving... just can't make any bumps (obviously). I only played a record while driving twice. :P

This is pretty much what I was going to tell you. I was really trying to figure out what you were trying to do to see if you needed two head units. As van mentioned there's really no need unless you have two different media you're trying to use or unless you want control of a radio in a back area of a van or SUV.

                      They *should*.
The are usually pretty long in your vehicle.
