Your post isn't very clear: does this happen during testing (with the PC outside the car?) or only while it's in the car? Because if it's only while the PC's in the car, check your grounding. Search to find out what to do.
If it happens during testing, make sure you have a real case and it's hooked up right to make sure it isn't grounding. If it still happens, try putting a ferrite bead on the speaker wire as close to the amp (or head unit) as possible. You can buy them at radio shack for less than a dollar.

Make sure that you computer has a good ground. Use at least the same guage wire as your power and ground to the closest to the computer. That should help, I know it did for me

If this is electonic noise, like noise as the hard disk is seeking then there isn't a lot you can do about it apart from getting a USB sound card. Try the grounding option first though.

How are you going to power your computer? Where is it located and where are the grounds points?

You may also want to check that the sound wires are far away from the power wires.

Well i have found that in my computer if i ground it to the frame that i get the same noise. Everytime i do something on the computer i would get a noise. So i changed a few things around and i grounded it to the cig lighter.

that is your problem then IMO

one of the first rules of car audio is to NEVER run your power and signal wires in the same area. They should be as far as possible from each other. Pull the power and run it on the other side of the car (or as far away as possible from the signal cables).

Also, make SURE that your grounds are 100%. This means scraping away any paint or other material that would prevent pure 100% metal to metal contact.

                            Good luck!

the ac97 chipset has this problem for a variety of reasons. you hear a humming when you move your mouse a lot or when stuff on the screen changes quickly right and it's a constant humming right?

i never actually saw a solution being posted, but one solution suggested was that because of the pravalence of the ac97 chipset, sometimes windows will install legacy drivers that aren't entirely compatible but works but has issues with interference with your graphic card chipset driver. what i did was to reinstall XP and install drivers that came with the motherboard. that worked for me, but i'm not sure that was the issue.

another stopget solution is to get a PCI or USB sound card. since the ac97 chipset is hardly any good, if you are any type of audiophile, it might be a good idea to invest in one of those.
