  • Carputers and subs??

hello this is my first post.
i'm looking into the whole carputer thing and just wondered if a sub would cause problems with a computer running in the boot together?
    My install... check it out!

if by together you mean affixed to one another then yes.
if by together you mean separated by reasonable distance, vibration and EMF dampening, then no.. no problems at all.

No issues on either EMF or vibration mounted to each other either.... a little searching will show this to be true.

I've had my 2 12" Cerwin Vegas pushed by 600 watts RMS, pounding right infront of my car computer, and it has never caused a problem. The ultimate test will come with I get my new system, 2 Avalanches pushed by 2,500 watts RMS (2 NINe.1 Amps).

i have my carpc mounted to the side of my sub box (there is a 3 in spacer in there which one of my amps sits in between). But i've had no issues.

I did replace my HD under warranty a few weeks ago....but that was from vibration i'm guessing. It lasted over a year though and would have kept going if i didn't want to replace it.

                cheers

Do NOT mount your computer on your box. Avoid it unless there absolutely NO other place you can put it. Subwoofer boxes flex which will cause unwanted stress on your motherboard and other parts.

eh - I would avoid the sub box if at all possible....but there are instances where I guess it can't be avoided....I guess.....maybe....once in a blue moon...hahahahah

and what's with this all of a sudden....seems as if it's sarcasm for everyone as of late....

..."listen to red....she knows" seems to be all over the place around here....

                            that's bad advice...don't just listen to me...I don't know....lol

I've had it on my sub box for over a year, not one issue

Like i said a disk did just start to go on me, however that is more likely due to vibrations etc

I wouldn't worry about it. I probably woudln't mount my motherboard on my subbox though
