  • Quality 4ga fuse holder

I am looking for a quality 4ga fuse holder. I'm using a plastic barrel type and I'm not impressed. Something a little more solid would be nice. Any suggestions?

TIFF ANL fuse holder for $5 +shipping.

Can't beat that for the money. It's massive and quite heavy, so you need to bolt it down somewhere. That seller has ANL fuses at great prices too.

I both agree and disagree with this statement. Circuit breakers are great from an installation point of view and thats what I use for the convenience of being able to shut it off without pulling anything apart. The only thing I disagree with is, if your going thru fuses you've got bigger problems. I do think it is a good, possible option though.

Circuit breakers are slow to react as well. Check out some of the stuff I have on sale in the Neema12 Summer Sale thread in the forsale forum.

additionally keep in mind that a normal circuit breaker trips when a piece of bi-metalic strip geets too hot... and having one of these under your hood can falsely trip in the hot summer days .. the same condition also can exist with the other style fuses as well.. but it is a little less likely..

I may go with a circuit breaker after the fuse so I have the convenience of being able to shut off power easily.

Just get an easily removeable fuse...circuit breakers are not meant to be used as switches, it wears them very quickly.
