  • sound from receiver is cutting out

If I turn up the volume on my new receiver it cuts out like it has some sort of regualtor on it. i have a 2004 nissan altima. i noticed that on my stock stereo if i turned the volume up past 34 the volume would get lower. any ideas? is there a regulator in the wiring at all? i have no idea. thanks

it could be some form of protection built into the headunits. They will do this for a few reasons. 1) they don't want to be blamed for you loosing your hearing 2) they do it to protect the rest of your investment (though with proper tuning you should never blow your speakers from turning the volume all the way up).

what head unit are you using?
