I've got a 95 e36 325i with a 15" eD in a sealed box in the trunk. This summer the PC's going in. My question is this: Considering the wavelenth of the <80Hz tones made by the driver, would it wreak equal havoc on the PC regardless of mounting location? I had originally planned to use shockmounts off of an aircraft avionics rack, in a trunk corner molded fiberglass enclosure. Would the difference be enough to warrant mounting it in the passenger footwell instead?

id say no. The whole thing is going to vibrate regardless of the wavelength. I would place the carpc on some foam and make a wooden tray to keep it from sliding around. Just keep them on opposites sides. Id be more concerned of the magnetism
Take my advice: Do not try to build a system that includes EVERY feature. Start with the basics, build it to a bug free state, and THEN add on.
