  • Creative Audigy 2 NX vs ZX Notebook

Hey guys, for a 2.2Ghz + USB2.0 laptop setup which one would you recommend.
Seems like ZX would help out with space, however NX gives better features?
Also is there a difference in power consumption and will having a lot of other USB devices pose a problem with the NX?
    Thanks for your imput,
    t.

what are these better features that you would actually be using?

I'm currently using the ZX, and it works quite well IMO.

both are great choices. here's what you get in copmparison to the other.

The NX offers you multiple choises in set up, a nice remote control with a pretty slick interface (VERY sold on using creative as my main player due to this), tactile button ccontrols and can work wiht other things.

The ZS offers you a more limited selection, but its a car, not a home theater

also, it doesn't require an external power source.

Personally, since i'm using a docking station, the quick disconnet of USB and its ability to work with multiple machines makes NX my choice. Sure, i/you could get a docking station with PCMCIA, but i mean, do you even have that option? Its your choice in the end.

I wasnt aware that the NX needs an external power supply. The I dont think i would actually use a remote.
Sounds like ZS is the best choice.
Does anyone have it hooked up directly to the amps?
I will have 4 speakers and a sub. For the sake of space I am trying to fingure out a way to get it hooked up to 1 amp.
Sounds like a 5 channel amp might work,
        let me know.
        Thanks,
        t.

Get a 4 channel. You have many choices in terms of set up.
i'm attaching a link to my RF4040dsm manual so you can take a look. If you're foruntate enough to get an amp that daisy chains, i suggest getting a basslink as your sub/amp combo and calling it a day
