  • bi-amp wiring question

So i was wondering about how to load my amps while wiring my speakers. The setup; for those of you that dont know. will be an active x-over, two 2-chan. amps (for front stage), a set of cdt cl-41 2-way with passive x-over and a set of elemental designs eu-700 6.5" mid/woofers in each door.

now the question i have is what is the optimal way to wire the amps? should one amp power the cdt's and another amp power the eu-700's -OR- should one amp power the speakers on the right and one amp power the speakers on the left? (i.e. one chan powers the right side cdt components, the other chan; on the same amp, powers the eu-700 on the right side. Then the second amp will do the same on the left side)

I was thinking that the eu-700's would be drawing a lot more power causing the one amp will be working a lot harder then the other.

    thoughts, suggestions?

I would go with your first suggestion, one for the cdts, and one for the eu-700's

Why do you think that is a better way?

also, rereading that, it may not be clear to everyone what i'm trying to decide between so this may make it a bit clearer-

      option A)
      -amp 1-
chan 1 powers left cdt cl-41
chan 2 powers right cdt cl-41
      -amp 2-
      chan 1 powers left eu-700
      chan 2 powers right eu-700

      -OR-

      option B)
      -amp 1-
chan 1 powers left cdt cl-41
      chan 2 powers left eu-700

      -amp 2-
chan 1 powers right cdt cl-41
      chan 2 powers right eu-700

I just figured it would be easier to have an amp powering each set of speakers. lol

...errr...thanks? actually it's pretty much the same amount of work for each, just a slightly different cable configuration (due to the unique zapco balanced output jack) but since i'm making the cables myself it doesn't make a difference.
