  • Help with p780mp, please

I just purchased and installed the P780 MP premier edition headunit from pioneer. Previously I was using a factory headunit in the 2005.5 jetta and I had a line-out converter so that I could run subs without changing headunits.

With my recent addition, I cannot figure out how to get my bass to sound like it was before. Of course it does sound cleaner, but it is not as heavy as it was. I'm guessing the reason was it was getting amped voltage from the converter, but I am unsure. I have read the book time and time again and played around with the settings for a while, and I cannot seem to figure out how to make it so I can "feel" the bass more.

I have a JL w6 with a 500:1 mono amp in my trunk. I turned the high pass filter on so that I would not recieve bass from the door speakers, but mainly from the sub. I even went into the shop where I bought it and asked him how I could achieve the bass that I'm looking for, and he told me to put it into custom eq because some of the eq's do not allow you to adjust the bass. So here I am in front of the headunit, put it into custom mode and the settings havn't changed at all and I still can't figure out how to do it.

On my brothers old 6800mp he has a setting that he can do like +/- to the bass level up to +5. I'm just wondering if any of you out there have this headunit and know what I can do to get what I'm looking for out of it. It wasn't a cheap headunit and so I wouldn't expect this out of a superior model to my brothers.

This forum is dedicated to CarPCs and installing them in your car.

The car audio forum is dedicated to integrating your car audio system with your CarPC.

For specific questions related to car audio equipment systems that do not include CarPCs, I would recomend checking out car audio specific forums:
    et. al.

There is a chance that someone on here might have an answer for you, I would just hate for you to wait around for it when I know you could get an answer much quicker on a dedicated forum.

    Good luck.

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
