the best way to search is go to google and type "turn on pop or thump" and then follow that by www.mp3car.com

how are you powering your PC?

if you are using a dc-dc PSU, most of them have built in turn on thump protection.

if you're familiar with 555 timer circuits you can build your own delay for turning on the amp. Certainly not as elegant as some solutions but a fun little project to do nevertheless.

theres a service in windows (within the registry) call beep, you need to disable that (set it to 4) and it will stop the beep in windows.

as for the pop, the amp is on before the pc is, when the pc comes on the output on the soundcard becoming live makes the pop, you need to make sure te amp comes on after the pc

hey... just to clarify... POST is Power On Self Test... which is usually a function of the BIOS, so... checking for keyboard, memory count, bios revision, that sort of thing happens BEFORE windows begins to load.... is that the beep you're talking about or is there a different beep that is actually happening after the windows logo appears?
