  • quick question about amp

i bought new speakers and they run at 45 rms my question can i run an amp to them at 60 without damaging the speakers, my amp is 300W and 60 x 4 at 4 ohm
i read some here that going a little higher avoids clipping? thanks

nope. Only thing you could do is lower the gains. but if you only have 1 gain-pot (which is usualy the case) it all will be quieter. Then again, this would be a cheap solutin, 'cuz normally the gain is NOT a volume-knob.

so having 100rms rear and 60rms front speakers will not work with single amp? any other way or shoul di get 2 smaller amps.

                thanks

if you have a 4x100w amp, it will put out 4x100watts.... nothing you can do about that really.... Buying a smaller amp for you rear speakers would be the way to go....
