I picked up a obd to cable made by delphi electronics.. it has a serial and usb adapter..

I'm planning on playing with my 2001 chevy zr2 blazer and setting up some guages on my laptop..

has anyone heard of or used an adapters made by delphi? also what is a good free software app to use?

Is it a straight through (level shifting only) cable interface or more?

Your Chevy may be VPWM (J1850) based in which case a straight thru cable may not be suitable.

oh yeah, and as far as I can tell.. it is a J1962 connector to an adapter that has Delphi all over it and a serial out put.. it also came with a serial to usb adapter..

I got it from a friend who works in the industry and said they were acquired way back when a warehouse was closing or something along those lines.. sold off as obsolete parts..
