Anyone else using Haltech Stand Alone ECU's?

I myself am rocking a Haltech E6X, that I have hooked up to my serial port on my EPIA M10000. I monitor, and tune my engine on the fly via the HalwinX software.

I've got a haltech. Using it with DashDAQ to watch the data stream. It's certainly a pricey PCM... You might have better luck on their boards. I haven't seen too many people here that run one.

          not really

Haltech isnt really that pricey an ECU if you consider its functions - in fact i think its probably the most reasonably priced ECU of the high performance ECUs out there. You gotta remember its not a piggy back, its a full stand alone engine management system.

          just my 2c anyways

Exactly. You also have to remember that you become the engineer when you replace your stock ECU with one. You have to put in all the correct settings, and maps (ignition and fuel). Here is my thread on what I went through to get it installed, and working:

              Haltech

Just found the thread. A little tardy.

My RX-7 Convertable is running a Haltech E8.

There are *lots* of settings and options.

I'd like to tap into the CAN interface so that I might use some of the connectivity offered by VAG-COM or PLX Devices.

I'm starting to get into this as well.

I'm picking up a 2000 Protege that has been extensively modified for SCCA FSP Autocross that is running a standalone Microtech ECU, and AEM wideband O2. This car was 4th in FSP at SCCA solo nat's in 2007, from what I hear.

I'm a noob at all this so I'll definately be in here a lot.

I'll be putting in a 7inch touchscreen to hopefully post the gauges available from the Microtech software.

I'm thinking about Cusco Zero2E Coilovers that can be electronically adjusted remotely and seeing if I can integrate that as well. Also will be doing either MaxQData or TrackMate Data aquisition for individual runs to compare settings.

                The car I'm buying:

                the setup:

                Engine:

                Where the touchscreen is going:

08' WRX - lightly prepared for D-stock autocross
1994 BMW M3/25is - Heavily prepared for SM class autocross
OBD1 :( no carputer fo the Bimmer
