  • OBDII USB Cable from eBay?

Ok I have a 2002 Toyota Camry, and i want to get a OBDII cable to connect to my carputer... now on ebay when you search for OBD2 there is plenty of cheap ones... will any OBDII cable work with my Camry? or do i have to get one the specifically supports Toyota?

No any of them will work. Vehicles manufactured after 1996 are required to support OBDII if sold in the USA.

Hey birdie, did you end up getting an OBD-II cable? I just received mine, bought over eBay from a supplier in China. It works great in my 2007 Camry Altise with Centrafuse. A few things don't show up, such as Fuel Pressure, but that's no big deal. I guess my engine probably doesn't output that info through OBD .... or should it?

Fuel pressure is not obligated for OBD2 or EOBD. It may or may not be supported.

I also am wanting to get a USB OBDII cable. I drive a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. How do I know if it uses that CAN BUS stuff? Would something like this work?

capcadetjc, NO. That's for VW and Audi with a limited version of the VCDS software.
Check the 16-pin connector in your car. Does it have pin 6 and 14? Then it could be using CAN. Or have somebody with a working set connect to your car and find out which protocol it is. In the USA and Europe CAN is obligated from 1st. January 2008.
Which country do you live in?

I have a Vag Com cable(the one listed above), and would like to use that as a regular OBD2 connector for my dodge dakota. Would the vag come cable work for regular obd2 on my truck?

Slaya786, NO, vagcom cable as listed above does not work.
What model year is your car, what type of engine (diesel, petrol) and where do you live?

capcadetjc, 6+14 present (Can) but also 7+15 (ISO).
So, from the connector you can't tell what protocol is used.
