  • Ford Diagnositc Routines

    Hi,

I'm trying to get the PCM in my 2002 Mondeo TDCi to perform the KOEO module self-test. I have tried sending mode $31 requests to the PCM as was done here, but the response is always of type $7F with response code $11, which is mode not supported. I have tried all possible test ID's, but always get this type of response.

Other modules in the car do respond to mode $31 requests.

Can anyone share their experience of other ways that KOEO tests are invoked in other Ford cars as this might point me in the right direction?

I have the same experience on TDCI engine.
I hope the firmware in TDCI's EEC is from Ford. :-)

      Mode $B1

I had another look at this post, which contains the recording of communication between the ABS module and professional diagnostic tool. The tool appears to be using mode $B1 to perform module self-tests.

Both the ABS and PCM respond to mode $B1 as a valid mode. I've tried all possible single byte and double byte parameters for this test mode with the PCM, but always get a general response message with code $22 (conditions not correct).

Does anyone have any understanding of mode $B1 that they could share with me?

        Hi Mark,

Easiest route is to use the MBD3210 which comes with software (http://www.ukobd.co.uk/shop/16-ford-...ic-tester.html) - we can also provide datasheet so you can use custom commands if you wish.

        Cheers,

        Gareth

The car is not EOBD compliant, which is why you are having the issue.

Only option is a professional tool, or http://www.ukobd.co.uk/PC-based-Tool...ic-Tester.html

            Regards,

Custom addressing ? It is possible on any ELM too.
And what it has to do with the KOEO ?
So, please, how can I trig KOEO with mobydic ? (on what version ?)
