  • Peugeot / Citroen PID for VIN / Fuel level

    Hello guys,

Im trying to find the VIN and fuel level on the bus of Peugeot / Citroen.

I have seen a Lexia3 software reading both from the above vehicles, and apperantly without interrogation (at least none that i noticed) so the information is probably on the CAN bus, but i have recorded the bus (using my trusty NEO VI) and cant find the above data anywhere.

Of course the above vehicles dont respond to standardized OBD interogation for VIN and fuel level.

Can anyone advise on which PIDs can i find these ?

    thanks.

      What is RD4 ?

On CAN-Bus, how can i read the VIN and fuel level ? with which command or where on the bus ?

If the vehicles are too old to respond to EOBD/OBD2 then the query won't be on the Can-bus, but on the old-fashioned K-line.

i tried on a new C4 (2011) and can not get a reply to OBD2 interrogation, no fuel level and no VIN. so i thought they might either use a propriatery interrogation or perhaps have the above info on the bus somewhere ?

i have the same question. I drive a citroen xsara, and the only PID i can get from my car is engine RPM.. it is EOBD compliant and i know the lexia software can read everything.. but is it just a matter of finding the custom PIDs?

No. The vehicle's engine ecu will not reply to any other questions using EOBD.
I have the same "Problem" with a Saxo. Just RPM and the statement that it's EOBD compliant (which it is not).

All other data and information can only be acquired with a scanner that uses the factory protocol.
