  • OBD-II In BMW X3?

Sorry for beeing a bit of a noob here, this is probably a stupid question

In our BMW X3, it's a OBD socket, but it has a lid, which has mounted a resistor on it that goes into two of the plugs in the socket. Will something malfunction if I open the lid?

    Sorry for my bad English....

check the obd2 pinout to find what the resistor is connecting.

in my e36, nothign malfunctioned when I did this. I think it's just to let the car know it's being diagnosed, and to therefore not do certain things.
