  • Will a european OBD-II Cable work on a Subaru?

im just wondering if a OBD-II cable made for an Audi would be able to work on a subaru (just the cord) it has all the pins and such, as well as a usb end so i think it is universal, but i just want to check

i dont know much about ecu's or how the obd-ii cables and such work, so if someone could answer my question it would be appricated...

    and before you say

    or or even

i have, and i know cables are for different cars and stuff, but hey... if it has all 16 pins (or is it 18) then shouldn't it work universally?

    For Audi,
    MY 2000: ISO9141
    MY 2001: ISO9141
    MY 2002: ISO9141/ KWP2000
    MY 2003: ISO9141/ KWP2000
    MY 2004: ISO9141/ KWP2000
    MY 2005: ISO9141/ KWP2000/ CAN
    MY 2006: ISO9141/ KWP2000/ CAN
    For Subaru:
    MY 2000: ISO9141
    MY 2001: ISO9141
    MY 2002: ISO9141
    MY 2003: ISO9141/ KWP2000
    MY 2004: ISO9141/ KWP2000
    MY 2005: KWP2000
    MY 2006: CAN
If the OBD II cable you have can support ISO9141, KWP2000 and CAN protocol, it shouldn't have the problem to use for the Subaru car.
