  • Embedding DC into RR

I am using a dual screen set up.(2048X768) I have a skin made specifically for the OBDII skin, with DC on one screen(Primary) and parts of the audio player on the secondary screen. My DC is demo, and perhaps that to is part of the problem, though I think it has to done with my RR commands.

I have made a Application(A) area, on the primary screen. DC autoloads to the primary screen, wont size or embed. If i touch the player LCD the primary lcd loses focus and DC disappears behind the skin. I have tried DC at full screen and not full screen. both disappreaes . neither works. I can run DC from windows, and have the GTR gauges as default Dash.

I also have Streets and Tips and it embeds properly.

Any help would be most appreciated

    Start with this thread.

Make sure you have the right window name for DC.

    Here is what I use.

    Code:
    LOAD;Drew DashCommand.skin;;C:\Program Files\DashCommand\dashcommand.exe|-maximize -startindashboards -title:"MyDashCmd";MyDashCmd
The -maximize -statindashboards -title are my chosen start up commands and are not needed.

Need help with .skin file for embedding.

Hi Drewbp you seem to be knowledgeable with embedding DC into RR.. i've been at it afew days and just need help with the dashcommand.skin file. i'm not entirely quite sure what to put in to run dashcommand properly? this would be my first time embedding an application on my own with RR and would appreciate the help. I've taken a look at the link you've put up and set everything up through the launch screen but am just stuck here. can u link what's in your dashcommand.skin file or steer me on what to put in? thanks appreciate it.

          Hi Eric,

You need to look at other skin files. Mine is listed below but is somewhat customized. Essentially you need the A/ line which tells where you want the Dashcommand window to open. X,y,width and length. You will also need whatever buttons are needed on that screen. I always start with a skin file that has on it what most of what I want and change the skinfile name so that it opens for that program. The Bottom Row off stuff is for the picture files of the bottom buttons. The inc buttons.txt, are where my button info is, where most people have the button info in every skin file. The B/ line is to take me back to the main menu screen, and the A/ line as I said tells where on the screen to open the application window.

Here is my Dashcommand Skin file:

          Code:
          RoadRunner Skin
          RRScreen "DashCommand"
          Bottom_Row_OFF.png,Bottom_Row_OFF.png,Bottom_Row_ON.png,Bottom_Row_OFF.png

          INC,BottomButtons.txt
          INC,IndicatorIncludes3.txt

          /, B, x, y, w, h, Command;COMMANDCODES, Tooltip
          B01,0,520,100,80,"LOAD;menu.skin",""

          /, A, x, y, w, h, color R;RGB, G, B
          A,0,0,800,520,"Dashcommand"

          END

you're absolutely right drew i should have thought of that inititially, it's actually been awhile since i got the CarPC bug and i did a reedit of my iguidance files and worked out well. my only issue so far, a minute one at that, is figuring out the font for the .png files they use for the carwings_dynamite_lite banners for every application on the top. appreciate the help, hopefully there won't be any more bugs i need to work on! if u know the font type that'd be great!
