  • Where to put LCD display?

Where do I put the display on this bad boy?

The top is AC Vents, Hazard Light and something else.

The middle hole is for radio.

Bottom hole is for the AC controller.

    Any tips?

Is it possible to relocate the AC controller or make it controllable via software?

This is from my '97 Civic LX

The civic's AC controller didnt go electronic till 1999. But you can relocate your headunit to the lower din, and put an indash lcd into the radio's spot.

Im looking to mount a 7" lcd, maybe I can just take out the HU and relocate the AC controller box entirely.

i dont think moving the AC controls is an option at all. As i said, they are mechanical connectors, that go from the knob to the vents and AC. When i had my civic, i had actually had a plan to custom mold a little box that housed the lcd and velcro'd ontop of the dash, which is fairly flat right about where those AC vents woudl be in your picture.

in my 94hatch its mechanical and it makes it easy to move. All there is to do is extend the cables that go to AC (buttons) the only thing that was mechanical was the hot/cold slider. Its easy to move the controls, as long as you dont have to extend it further than the lenght of the cable.

Thats what I was thinking...I could even extend the cables if I wanted to. It looks like everything is contained in one box, with a cable harness wired into it. If I move the whole AC controller down to where the "tape holder" is, just under this console, then I think I can get away with fabricated the piece.

That's a pain in the arse, but much less of a pain than trying to control the AC with the computer.

if u are just moving it down, i dont think you would have to modify the cable at all. just the wiring. The cable is going to the back of where you're planning to put it, so it woulnd't be a big deal. But if you're thinking glove compartment, than it would need modification.
Thats assuming that everything in your is simmilar to my 94.
                      Good luck
