  • baren lcd to fiberglass

ok im making my bezel for my camry(winter car) and well i cant use the housing it cam in becasue the whole housing is way too big to fit in my double din slot. do i need to make my own bezel out of fiberglass. heres where im stuck at how do ppl make such straight housing lines? and how do u connect the lcd to the fiberglass. the lcd is a touch screen so it would have to be secured very well so i can press the screen andnot fall back. any help would be nice, thanks in advance. sam b.

what kind of screen is it?

secondly...I'm in a similar position cause being a dummy I accidentally destroyed the case/bezel for my screen so I have to fab a front one for now...what I suggest is using the front bezel..and molding that into the dash...then use either metal strap or be creative to find something to use to hold the rest of the screen

you cant hack the bezel and part of your dash so you can keep the retaining clips (where to screw in the LCD) ???

Kinda like what i did... check it out http://filebox.vt.edu/users/avanderb/RSX/

go to the LCD, granted its in an RSX but something along those lines of kinda focring it to work and f/g around to hold it and build it back up.?

        Apolo

sorry had a typo in the link... its fixed now

ok the reason i cant use the bezel it came with is becasue i would have to cut it soo much their are no screw holes. heres a few pics of the bezel that the lcd came with and how it over laps the stock loacation.

I see what you mean...looks like you've already modified the bezel...also where are you planning to move your buttons to?

I have the exact same screen...and I'm unsure what I want to do at this point as well...thinking about just fabbing the screen into the dash and then mounting the buttons into the dash panel, just not sure I have the right tools to cut out the correct openings for the buttons.

                you've got a PM btw
