  • Custom console?

I wan't to build a console with the CDROM inside of it and the touchscreen slanted facing up you know? What kind of wood and material to you recommend, and where can I get the material, I checked WalMart and Hobby Lobby and got some smooth fabric, but I would rather have a carpet like texture like on Subwoofer Enclosures.

carpet can be had at pep boys, autozone, etc. you can use 3/4" MDF for the frame, then you can either fiberglass it all or use bondo if you only need to fill small gaps.

You could probably get away with 1/2" MDF instead of 3/4". It's lighter and generally a bit cheaper.

For a custom console you would want to use fleece and fiberglass resin. Then apply bondo to smooth it out.
