  • 2000 intrepid is done any suggestions on improving bezel

Hi all, here is my somewhat finished touchscreen untill i redo in a month or so...I started yesterday finished today.i know,i know i get what i asked for when i wanted it done in a 24 hour period but don't think it is that bad for very first time fabricating anything and painting too.

    Suggestions on my redo please...

My big problem i am going to have is cracking and also straighten out the right side it is sticking up. I just used straight bondo. In the picture it does not show the filler in the 2 holes on the side of the monitor but i did fill them with plastic before using bondo (just so you know).

what would be the best way to stop cracking on this one or prevent cracking on my redo?

i know lots of you use fabricators use fiberglass, fiberglass mats etc...
but it seems like to much fiberglassing for such little spots i need to fill. I did not put bondo on thick at all.The bezel is flimsy because i cut out all the supports.

should I of filled with epoxy insted? how is epoxy to sand?

Is this one fixable or should I redo from scratch? If so how?

thanks for your comments and suggestions

I just finished yesterday re-doing it over again with all resin. I am still having the same problem with cracking so the third round is coming soon.what I want to do is cut the panel where the two sides that are by the radio because it ends up cracking because too much stress over there when i snap up the panel or remove the panel it ends up cracking in the corners by the radio.(snug fit around radio so there is no gaps.

does anyone have any good tips how to cut it (probably with a dremal) I know I will have a seam but has anyone done something like this? to make the seam look somewhat like it supposed to be like that and does not look like it cracked off?.
also the radio has no mounting because no room for a sleeve.any sugestions on
      how to mount it?
      thanks

Great job there Michaeljr! I also have a 2000 Intrepid and will be starting my install here soon, so it's great to get a glimpse at what it will look like.

Any updates? More info and pictures? Where did you put the computer? How was it powered and wired? Any more info would help me out greatly, I'm a knowledgable computer guy but lack experience with auto wiring and fabrication.

          I hope you reply!

          Thanks - napalmdef
