  • Whats up with the smell?

Ait, when does this stinking thing stop stinking up my car?

I have completed my first fiberglassing project!
It's been 4 days, it's dryed up(cured) and I have sanded and everything.
However it still stinks like resin and making me , just kidding about the last one...

Seriously, how long will it keep smelling like that?
    What have I done wrong?

Well, that smell will be there forever *evil laugh and grin*
After a while you'll be too stupid to notice it.

Its been around 20-25 C during the days, and about 10-15 at night! Too cold?

It's not "tacky" anymore, so it should be cured, right?

Jepp, i guess. My batch kept drying before i was done, so had to make new ones all the time. I guess total work time on each fiberglass layers was about 15-20 minutes. Needed to make 2 batches for each layer. I had only 2 layers and YES i let it dry in between.

            Thanks for helping me out

I know it's usually a faux pas to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm having the smell issue now. I assume (read: hope) it goes away in time?

Did you ask some other people cus the problem could be you thinking that the smell is there (after some days working with resin, bondo etc)

                    Painting it might help.

I had the smell in my car for a few days, and then it disappeared. But I also keep the my sub enclosure out of the car for about a week and kept it in the garage.

Oh no it's definitely there. Every time my car sits in the sun for any appreciable period of time, the smell is so bad I have to hold my breath until I can open the windows and get the car moving.

I'm hoping that the smell will abate somewhat when I put the backseat back into the car. I've kept it out because I didn't want to get anything on it, plus it's just easier to move stuff around from behind. I'll post here when everything's back in the car.
