  • How can i fit a 7" screen in this dash

i really want to integrate a 7" into this dash, but im not sure how. The only i can think of is removing the gauges, moving the hvac controls down and putting the screen where the stereo and hvac controls are.

Do you guys have any other suggestions?

the only problem is the hvac knobs are bigger than the gauges so im not sure they will fin that location, but i can do some measuring once i pick up the car.

Yeah, relocating the gauges would be the solution.
        Is that a Z4?

should fit but also require a lot of work.
Relocate the gauge is the only way.
Glare is also suck at that viewing angle especially on a topless car.

its actually an M Coupe, its a solid roof, so no open top glare

also im thinking that i would buy a new/used dash piece and work on that, so i don't damage the stock one.

you never know, he could do an amzing job.

built-in's have the potential to look a thousand time better than a flipout. flipouts are the pussy way out just kidding.

edit: IMO flipouts look cheap, anyway.

edit2: and a flipout would block his a/c vents

You could get rid of those center vents. I doubt you are going to have anyone in the back complaining about air when they would have no room anyways. I would def suggest getting a spare part to modify, especially on an M roadster. While you are at it, you should route the power for that radar detector, maybe hardwire it with a different kind of disconnect, so the wire doesn't get in the way of your 7 inch.

then the left side of his face will be cold

I use the center vents for myself! the left one anyway.

The M roadster is tiny and the engine creates so much heat that I hardly think he will have a problem heating or cooling the interior consistently.

i agree, flipouts look cheap. i think if i do it right, or pay a custom install shop to do it right, it will look awesome.

maybe mount your gauges(or)ac controls on the a pillar? then put the factory h/u in the glove box and there you go

or put the h/u in your armrest-box
