  • how do i take the gloss off paint?

i found the prefect hammere plastic paint to match my beazel, and becuase it's hammered it matches the surface of the dash, the downside tho is that it's too shiny, is there a way to make the paint shine less? like sand it or something

if you sand it, more than likely you'll take some of the plastic with it, making it look bad, or the wrong color

Get some super fine grit sandpaper, like 2000 or something and go over it. It will take the gloss right off and should look okay when you are done.

having worked with the hammertone finishes alot, you will ruin the hammered appearance with sanding it.

i have successfully transformed the extremely glossy hammertone to a matte finish with some spray clear in matte. they sell this at home depot and lowes for sure, maybe auto supply places as well.

In my opinion, very fina steel wool might help. Have you perhaps tried some really fine steel wool? I have removed emblems off of military gear with a little steel wool and some WD-40. Afterwards, it seems like any areas that were a little glossy no longer show as much "shine." Just a suggestions.
