  • Need Headliner Fabric for Car Audio Project or Advice

Ok so I am installing component stereo speakers in my Jetta and have already installed the woofers and am now working on the tweeters. The stock location is pretty good, but I didn't like how the speakers were facing in toward the dash and not the listener.

So I went ahead and tweaked the stock piece to my liking...

Now, the question is, do I paint it or cover it with fabric? If I paint it, I would probably do either matte black or gloss black. However, if I was able to find the exact fabric that is used for the GLI/GTI headliner, it would look totally OEM.

    Help

You have realized that VW is the ONLY car with that fabric for headliner, right?

Try to dig up the thread with the link to Project 33 and his "spray on leather." That would match the textured plastic like that's on the radio and center stack almost perfectly.

06 Salsa Red GLI 6MT FTW!

Yeah Yev, I know the stock location isn't the best, but I have way too many projects right now to start another one putting the mids where they should be...
